The FAMIS Programs Virginia has two health insurance programs that provide coverage to low to moderate income children in the Commonwealth - FAMIS and FAMIS Plus. There are also two programs that provide coverage to pregnant women - Medicaid for Pregnant Women and FAMIS MOMS. Financial eligibility for all these programs is based on how a family's income compares with the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The programs differ in eligibility criteria (financial and non-financial), covered benefits, and delivery of services.
